Frequently Asked Questions

  • Beyond package inclusions and pricing, the real difference lies in personality, storytelling style and delivery. A celebrant becomes the voice of your ceremony. It is important to choose someone whose presence matches your vibe, whose writing resonates, and who makes you both feel comfortable and confident.

  • Yes. Samantha ensures all legal documentation is prepared, witnessed and lodged correctly with Births, Deaths & Marriages. Couples can relax knowing every requirement is handled professionally and thoroughly.

  • At least one calendar month before the wedding, the Notice of Intended Marriage must be completed. The day before (or the day of) the ceremony, couples sign a Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage confirming they are legally free to marry. During the ceremony, the couple say the required legal wording and sign the official certificates alongside two witnesses over 18. Samantha guides couples through each step so nothing feels overwhelming.

  • Every celebrant charges differently and offers different packages, so it’s important that you shop this around and speak to every celebrant to find out which one is right for you. Your celebrant should be reflective of you as a couple, and someone you trust will deliver your dream ceremony.

  • It’s always recommended you find and book your celebrant well in advance (at least 3 months prior to your ceremony).  This will allow your celebrant enough time to get to know you, draft your ceremony, provide guidance around your vows and any other inclusions you’d like.  Under the law, a wedding ceremony cannot occur within 30 days of a Notice of Intended Marriage Form being completed by your celebrant.

  • Absolutely, and it’s always encouraged as it adds a beautiful warmth and personalisation to the ceremony.

  • A celebrant is required to read what’s called “The Monitum” word for word to make the ceremony official.  Both couples’ full names (including middle names) must also be mentioned at one point throughout the ceremony.  Outside of those two small things, all other wording is flexible.

  • Of course!  Beach weddings are spectacular but more thought needs to go into their preparation such as weather, tides, access (particularly for the elderly or physically incapable of walking on sand).  For any public venue, please check with the local Council to ensure you are allowed to host your wedding there.  Some fees may apply.
